Lisa and the Lion
Introduction
I wrote this first as a poem. The more I read this poem, I began to see this as a message to pre-school children and children up to age 7. This book is a message about a child taking a stand for her education. She is not going to let anyone talk her out of going to school.
About Lisa
My 11-year-old granddaughter has gone to school sick because she loves to learn. Her dad tried to keep her home but she wouldn't hear of it. So, this little girl, Lisa, is not allowing anyone, not even the lion, to make her think that something is better than getting your education.
The Importance of Education
The book is stating that education is knowledge and knowledge empowers you with confidence to seek the tools that will help you succeed in life. The little girl is confident about getting her education but she also realizes that she was speaking to someone who might hurt her, so she runs to the school for her safety.
The Lion's Realization
The lion realizes that Lisa is right about an education. You can't run around and play all your life. One day you'll be old, then what. So, the lion decides to go to school too. He wanted to get an education as well.
Education Can Be Fun
Having no one to play with all day is no fun but education can be fun too.
