The Lesson is a story about Mama Rabbit, the best pie maker in the Valley, four mischievous youngsters and the mischief they get into and how the problem was handled.

The pies were for the Fourth of July Picnic, which was the very next day. The youngsters were caught taking a pie and how Mama Rabbit solved the problem.
