About the Author
Sir Charles George Douglas Roberts (January 10, 1860 - November 26, 1943) was a Canadian poet and writer commonly hailed as the "Father of Canadian Poetry". He was amongst the first Canadian authors to gain international fame for his work, and was Canada's leading man of letters when he died. Other notable works by this author include: "In the Deep of the Snow" (1907), "The Book of the Native" (1896), and "Hoof and Claw" (1914).
