V lives a life less ordinary.

For one, she lives in a rented home with a pixie and shape shifter. And for some strange reason, her mother insists she goes to an all-boys school disguise as a boy.

Just as things seem to be settling down, her crush, who has the ability to control machines with his mind, invites her to join him during the school break onboard Quark City, a giant space city that travels around the galaxy.

Expecting an epic journey of romance, she ends up being pulled into something sinister brewing there. It begins with the disappearance of a nurse, and ends in two murders, the town mayor, and surprisingly Quark City’s resident super villain Dr. Dreary.

It appears that she has a deeper connection with the city than she knew, due to her mother’s mysterious past with some of Quark’s most important denizens. All this is just the beginning. It’s sort of a welcome back home for V, from the sinister forces lurking behind the city’s secrets.
