Why do innocent people suffer?

This is the universal question posed in the story of Job. Blessed with great wealth and a loving family, Job was considered the richest man in the East—until the day that everything he had was taken away. But Job continued to praise God, even as he sought to understand the mystery of suffering and of God's divine grace.
