It's About Time
An Astronauts Song
Why are we going up there? There's nothing really up there but some clouds and the rest of the sky. What do we hope to find? What do we wish to see? We can never reach every planet or touch every star. What's the point of it all?
What we need to be concerned about is all the shit we are putting up there. We are killing ourselves with technology. It's the wave of the future. It's the new next big thing. Whatever it is, I'm not buying it. I'm not a trick and pony show.
I got dreams, I got big dreams. But it's not up there, it's down here. Looking into your eyes, I just want to ask, what's wrong?
There are plenty of nice green trees right in the backyard, waiting to be touched. But now, I'm not an astronaut anymore, huh? Am I a tree hugger now? Hell, no.
But I'll tell you one thing: I get along with some trees better than I do with some people I know. Sad, huh? Sad but true. But that just becomes some line someone put down one time, in hopes that someone would understand that they were good at some moment in time.
