International trade in services is emerging as an important area of study. Governments are becoming increasingly aware of the significance of services in both trade and investment relationships.

About the book

This book is based on research carried out as part of the ASEAN-Australia Joint Research Project. It is of relevance internationally as well as to the Pacific Rim countries for its consideration of both theoretical and policy aspects.

Case studies

Case studies are presented for each country of the original ASEAN members: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and on tourism, telecommunications, air transport, and consultancy services.
