Social System and Social Structure

Social system is a concept used relatively early in sociology by functionalists, and social structure can also be divided into microstructure and macrostructure. Microstructure is the pattern of relations between the most basic elements of social life, that cannot be further divided and have no social structure of their own.

Globalization and Gender Relations

The social change affecting gender relations in society as a result of globalization is paradoxical. On the one hand, as a result of globalization, women are allowed entry to roles and arenas of society in which they were not allowed in many societies before, and thus the distance between the ways masculinity and femininity are constructed in the society lessens.
