This history of Jerusalem from about the time of Jesus’ death through the mid-nineteenth century covers the Jewish Revolt and the ensuing Roman siege of the city, the Muslim conquest, the Crusader occupation, and the long period of Muslim rule that followed. It is notable for its reliance on both western and Arab source materials.
