The book describes the life of a man with a literacy mission. Headmasterji, born in 1913, hailed from Surajgarh, a small village of Rajasthan, India. He was a multifaceted personality and contributed towards social and educational reforms. He was a firm believer in "Education for all".
The book also provides details about Headmasterji's vision for Surajgarh's education and how Surajgarh stands tall in education. It is written against the backdrop of the Indian Independence movement. The atrocities and the pain of India-Pakistan partition are outlined in the book.
The book describes Headmasterji's efforts to bring reforms for the development and growth of the children of Surajgarh. It presents Headmasterji, who was the first postgraduate of Lahore University in 1932. Headmasterji was a pioneer in introducing Gram agriculture cultivation (agriculture revolution) in this region in 1930, before which gram was not grown here. Due to the good soil conditions, the region became a leader in gram cultivation, marking the first step towards industrialization of the region. Around 100 pulse mills started in Surajgarh mandi region.
Headmasterji was the first person with such high qualifications to become the principal of PB High School. The book also details Surajgarh's first people's movement against the local authority for implementing the high house tax before 1960, led by Headmasterji. It provides insight into the first election at Surajgarh and Headmasterji's role in it after independence.
The book further discusses the first election of the students' union, the chairman of Surajgarh, and the MP from Surajgarh. It offers historical details about Surajgarh, its development from the pre-independence era to the present day. This is the first book to mention Rambilasji, Headmasterji, and Surajgarh.
