Hi boys and girls,

The story you are about to read is about the weather, and a little bit about voting. It tells us about the changing times we live in, now and how it was when I was a kid. I have seen all kinds of weather. I even traveled to Virginia to watch hurricane Bertha land on shore. Okay, I lie, I was on vacation with my family and got caught in it, and it was not fun.

Storms can hurt you. We have so much changing weather now, and new words that we don't always hear but have been around a long time, like microburst, polar vortex, and global warming. Don’t they sound scary to you? Well, maybe not, but they are.
