It was a dead end.

A dead end to their knowledge. A dead end of their lives. A dead end to the adventure. From that day forth, no one knew what was coming. No one could predict for themselves. They would be shot at or be blown up or turn out dead in the most disastrous way possible.

But they did not care anymore. A massive secret threatened them. A secret known for centuries but unknown to the era. And that was all they cared about. Unknowingly. Ignorantly.
