The Story

The Game Gods Play is the story of a man lost within himself. The cards he holds are all he needs to be great, yet each day is lost in forgotten monotony. Isaac is a young man held back by past traumas, causing him to simply go through the motions of life: wake up, go to work, come home, play video games, and go to sleep. It’s an endless cycle that many are content with, but Isaac knows he is capable of more.

The World and the Routine

As one of only eight Artificers—a rare form of core growth—he should be battling monsters, defending the innocent, and conquering other city-states. Yet… Wake up. Go to work. Go home. Play video games. Go to sleep. The monotony of his routine is suffocating, each day blending into the next with no sense of purpose or fulfillment.

The Turning Point

What happens when a man with a fragile hold on reality, potentially unlimited power, and a rather immature nature makes an impulsive decision? It’s the games gods play in which he finds himself, but at least he’s not alone anymore. Alongside him are companions who share his struggles and dreams, each with their own unique abilities and stories.
