The Summer Vacation
Afraid he will become even more anti-social, Max’s mother rents a lake house and takes the family on a summer vacation. While Max does make some friends his own age at the lake, he also befriends Sandy, a mysterious burned-out middle-aged scientist who takes a great interest in Max.
Max's Challenges and Friendships
While Max’s mother is concerned about Sandy’s intentions, the seemingly clairvoyant scientist helps Max with some math equations and problems, including the big question: how does he befriend Amanda, a girl at the lake that he has a crush on?
