Summary

Nola and Tony, a middle aged couple, and their small son Chris are charmed by a homeless young man whom they have literally met by accident. He becomes a beloved part of their family and marries Nola's niece.

He dies six weeks before their daughter is born, and Nola discovers in a strange way something about him that she never reveals to the rest of the family. Although she never learns the whole story of Reyn, she believes that the love he brought to them was enough, that there is no point investigating further.
