This book is a study of the pattern of social life which developed in the slums of central Lagos; and of the effects of a compulsory slum clearance scheme on the lives of those who were removed. Both parts of the study are presented clearly and vividly and are enriched with numerous quotations of statements by the people concerned, as well as a quantity of information presented in statistical tables.
