Bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder is the term used to describe what was once known as manic depression. Bipolar disorder is becoming more and more common, particularly in young adults, although people of all age ranges can suffer from the condition.

This Second Edition, as with all the guides in the Explaining series, aims to provide an insight into bipolar disorder and explores the background to the condition, the symptoms, and various treatments on offer. It also explores the way those with this condition can help themselves, through lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise. The research is up to date to 2019.
