Originally published in 1984, Domiciliary Services for the Elderly looks at the field of elderly care and particularly domiciliary work from the perspective of social services. Starting with the early influences that helped shape the development of Domiciliary Services for elderly people, the author, a qualified social worker, goes on to look at how the service has developed over the years and where it falls short.

Chapters include the role of government policy over time, European comparisons, and training. The final chapter looks to the future and what part domiciliary services might play in the care of our aging population.
