Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Benson

Steve Benson is a veteran of the RCMP CID division who has demonstrated his skills through solid performances on two major crimes. The second case nearly costs him his career, as he is brought before the chief commissioner to account for the high costs involved in tracking a fugitive into the frozen northern wilds of Canada.

After a somewhat protracted run-in with the chief commissioner over the expenses, Benson stands his ground and considers retirement. However, due to that hostile conversation, he is not only kept in his position but is promoted to detective chief superintendent.

He goes on to solve a longstanding cold case involving the murder of eight women. Following this success, he is assigned a new department tasked with solving serial killings and high-profile murders across Canada.

He is accompanied by his two longstanding friends and colleagues, Sergeant Al Philips and Special Constable Jimmy Two Bears, a native Canadian.
