Summary

Leroy, Lydia's self-centered domineering husband, is found dead across the room from the unconscious Lydia. Quiet, soft speaking, mild-mannered Lydia is later charged with his murder. She was raised by a great aunt in the small town of Windfield. She and her aunt were charitable people and were loved by the community. She had degrees in mechanical engineering and interior design and loved to design window displays for the town merchants. However, she found it more and more difficult to continue her career after marrying Leroy, a farmer.
