About the Book

Based upon Davis’s years as a first-rate war correspondent, the book provides a colorful and dramatic account of key military operations in the Spanish-American War. His account of Teddy Roosevelt’s charge up San Juan Hill thrusts the reader right into the dramatic action. Davis, whose writing did much to further the mystique of the Rough Riders, was also made an honorary member.
