Complications of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
Overview
This book reviews the prevention, evaluation, and management of complications arising from female pelvic surgery. As the field has continued to advance and mature following subspecialty board certification ten years ago, these topics are more relevant than ever.
Edition and Title
The third edition of this textbook, now renamed as Complications of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, serves as a reference allowing the surgeon quick and ready access to information about complications of female pelvic surgery procedures.
Updates and Content
This edition reflects important changes in the practice landscape following the FDA’s 2019 ban of transvaginal mesh products for prolapse repair and has been comprehensively updated to reflect new technologies and techniques used by today’s pelvic reconstructive surgeons. Additions include further detail on complications associated with robotic techniques as well as new neuromodulation, urethral bulking, and mid-urethral sling approaches. Furthermore, chapters on gender affirming surgery, hysteropexy, vaginal laser therapy, autologous graft harvest, and post-cystectomy prolapse repair have been added.
Organization and Features
As with the last edition, chapters are divided by procedure to allow for easy navigation, and images and diagrams of methods of evaluation and repair for complications are included.
Target Audience
Complications of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery offers essential knowledge to urologists, gynecologists, fellows, and residents who perform the surgeries discussed in this book.
