This book analyzes poverty and the mechanisms that lead to it in ethnic rural areas in China using macro- and micro-examinations as well as field studies.

It identifies new poverty situations and poverty alleviation in China’s ethnic areas and discusses the shortcomings of current poverty alleviation policies, while also making concrete policy suggestions to promote effective poverty alleviation in these regions.
