The Plot

When a six foot tanned giant of a man comes into Albert Blunt’s International Detective agency, the sly, comical duo Tommy and Tuppence are in for a treat. Not only has Mr. Stavansson reemerged after a two-year arctic adventure, but he’s also lost his fiancée Hermione.

The Mystery

What telegrams and scraps of information Tommy and Tuppence, married couple and detecting aficionados, can gather are all the hope the adventurer has. But the telegrams lead the duo into a rather dangerous situation, swarming up ladders in the dead of night into secluded country houses, and that’s only the start of it.
