This volume starts with an introduction to the first works on business history since 1924 looking at the work of Francis Hyde in Liverpool and Harvard.

This is a collection of articles reprinted from the first 25 years of the journal Business History which was bi-annually available until 1981 when it increased to three issues.

The contributions demonstrate that the interpretation of business history has been very wide, falling into the area of economic history.
