In Blood on the Water

Vernice Darnley’s gritty and fast paced second book about the South London Gordon family, we see Agnes Gordon, a young woman who only wants to do her bit in the war by delivering coal via Britain’s Canals, unwittingly become embroiled in special Spy ops run from Bletchley Park and the escape from Germany of a high ranking Nazi psychopath and friend to Hitler, situations which come together in one final dramatic and breathtaking incident.

The author has once more given each of her characters highly believable life, making the book both an hilarious and sometimes horrifying read. A real page turner.
