In 1740 England, a series of murders has plagued the middle of the country.

Innocent women are being systematically killed, and the local constabulary are perplexed. They are not sure how to proceed or how to resolve the present dangerous situation. However, luckily for them and the community, a professor from London and a romantic couple who can observe any and all things as they relate to the murders stand ready to help them.
