The Black Arrow
Robert Louis Stevenson
The Black Arrow: A Tale of the Two Roses is a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894). First published in 1888, it is both an historical adventure novel and a romance. It tells the story of Richard Shelton during the Wars of the Roses (1455–1487): how he becomes a knight, rescues his lady Joanna Sedley, and obtains justice for the murder of his father, Sir Harry Shelton.
The ebook contains the beautiful illustrations of a 1916 edition. It also has a biographical profile of Stevenson written by English poet and critic Edmund Gosse (1849–1928) in 1911.
