Bill and Mary Burnham

have successfully blended their love of the outdoors with backgrounds in journalism and photography for more than 15 years. For their first book, they spent two full years hiking and writing about the best trails in the Old Dominion. The result, Hiking Virginia: a Falcon Guide, received a National Outdoor Book Award. The Florida Keys Paddling Atlas also earned a NOBA award as the best guidebook of 2008. Among their nine books are two in The Globe Pequot Press’ how-to Knack series: Car Camping for Everyone and Kayaking.
