Plot Summary

Three private investigators, all with Zen Buddhist backgrounds, are hired to determine whether or not the client's mother is dead, as she is alleged to be. If she is dead, he wants to know how she died. If she is not dead but is being detained somewhere, they must locate her.

Mysterious Artifacts

Peculiar Aztec artworks have been found among her possessions; and in following the trail left by these pieces, the detectives encounter ancient beliefs and practices for which no one in the modern world can be prepared.
