This book constitutes the refereed conference proceedings of the First  Workshop on Artificial Intelligence with and for Learning Sciences - Past, Present, and Future Horizons, WAILS 2024, held in Salerno, Italy, during January 18-19, 2024.

The 14 full papers and 5 short papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed.

The contributions present and discuss previous achievements, current challenges and solutions, and future perspectives concerned with the adoption of artificial intelligence methods and techniques in the context of learning sciences.
