When New York City lawyer Janiece Ryder hears about a genetics experiment that is creating a new breed of reptilian soldiers who are both super-efficient and expendable, she knows that she should stop it. The only question she has is how.

But when the company creating these soldiers, BIOGENCORP, learns that Janiece has acquired information about the experiment, it sends the A.R.EX. groups first soldier, called Arex, on a mission to silence Janiece for good. And to make matters worse, the FBI has begun to think that Janiece is involved with the escape and kidnapping of one of her convicted clients, Erickson Meyers.

As the soldier studies Janiece, he begins to question why he was asked to assassinate a woman who doesnt appear to have done anything wrong. Unsure of his past before joining the A.R.EX. project, Arex wonders if Janiece can help him uncover the truth. The one who seems to have all the answers is the very person theyre trying to stop.
