Born 9th September 1829 - Died 20th November 1910, the author, was a Russian writer and regarded as one of the greatest authors of all time. He also wrote short stories, plays, and essays. His renowned works are 'War and Peace', 'The Death of Ivan Ilyich', and so on.
His fiction includes dozens of short stories and several novellas such as Family Happiness, After the Ball, and Hadji Murad. This novel is divided into eight parts, with more than a dozen major characters. It is based on themes of betrayal, faith, marriage, family, desire, rural life, and urban life.
The book is very interesting and focuses on an extramarital affair between Anna and Count Alexei Kirillovich Vronsky. The story takes place against the backdrop of the liberal reforms initiated by the emperor of Russia.
Initially, the character Prince Stepan is unfaithful to his wife, Princess Darya (Dolly). Dolly learns about her husband's affair with the family governess. Her sister Anna comes to calm the situation but engages with Alexei Vronsky herself. The author narrates this family drama effectively, highlighting societal issues, which are quite alarming. It concludes that humans make mistakes.
