Aniyah is fearful for her first day of school. Her mother is trying to prepare her by telling her some of the exciting things that will happen—meeting new friends, playing at recess, singing silly songs in music, and drawing her favorite pictures in art class.

However, Aniyah can't help but think the kids may not like her; she may get hurt and have no one to play with without her mother around. As Aniyah continues to fear that everything will go wrong, Mom comes up with an idea.
