George Orwell

George Orwell was a much-respected English novelist, who wrote some of the finest pieces in literary criticism, fiction. Orwell's work is known for its simplicity and wit. He wrote with smartness on subjects such as anti-fascism, democratic socialism etc. His best works include ANIMAL FARM. It's an allegorical novella. It got published in August 1945. The fiction is based on farm animals, the author has named them too, such as Major (a majestic-looking pig), 3-dogs (Bluebell, Jessie, and Pincher), many hens, pigeons, ducklings, sheeps, and cows. Two horses, Boxer and Clover. Amongst them, Major is their leader. He wanted to speak on the nature of life on this earth and how any animal is now living. The author has nicely elaborated through these characters about the animals' misery and slavery. Animals complain that despite their hard labour, why then do they continue in the miserable condition? They also complain about human beings that they use to steal nearly the whole of their produce. Their main enemy is - Man. So, remove Man from the scene and the root cause of hunger and overwork will be abolished forever. The book narrates the agony of ill-treated farm animals. Then what decision they take and how this Animal Farm is born, everything has become very interesting. The ultimate satire on fascism. A must-read book.

1984

George Orwell is the pen name of the author, Eric Arthur Blair. He was an English essayist, novelist, journalist, and critic. His writings are based on social criticism, anti-Fascism, anarchism, and support for democratic socialism. His work remains influential in popular culture and political culture. 1984, a novel, is based on dystopian social science. Its theme is projected on the consequences of mass surveillance, totalitarianism, and societal behavior aspects. The author had been a democratic socialist. Mostly, the novel narrates the truth and facts within politics and how these are manipulated. The author has narrated in an imaginary manner when most parts of the world have fallen victim to perpetual war, global mass surveillance, historical nogationism. A huge propaganda is there. The story reveals that Great Britain, known as Arstri One, has become a province of totalitarian superstate named Okeania. The leader of the party is Big Brother. Actually, it's a cult of personality and arises anyone who uses the techniques of mass media, social networking, government-organized demonstrations, and rallies to create an image of a leader. It is often seen in totalitarian or authoritarian states. Winston Smith is a protagonist, who is a very skillful outer party member and hates the Party and dreams of rebellion. His relationship with Julia has also come up. 1984 has become a classic literacy example of political and dystopian fiction. Time magazine included this novel on its 100-best English-language novels. Although Orwell was hesitating for this title, Warbury (the publisher) suggested this, which he took to be a more commercially viable choice. The story behind its title is also very interesting: when Orwell finished this novel in 1948, this title was chosen simply as the inversion of that year. So, at last, in the story, there is a celebration of the massive victory of Okeania over Eurasian armies in Africa. Also, Winston accepts that he loves Big Brother. How this happened? What were the circumstances? Winston refused to love Julia? How did this political storm take place? For all, the story reveals step by step in an interesting manner. A mind-blowing novel of that time and forever.
