Overview

The book gives an up-to-date account of various approaches available for the analysis of infectious disease data. Most of the methods have been developed only recently, and for those based on particularly modern mathematics, details of the computation are carefully illustrated.

Interpretation is discussed at some length and the emphasis throughout is on making statistical inferences about epidemiologically important parameters.
