Alice's Soldiers
Introduction
Alice was a blind Princess who could only see when Prince Robert was nearby. As babies, for their protection, they lived in a country called Brooklyn. Thanks to the Marshall Plan and the new country's leaders, Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, and Jackie Gleason, Brooklyn soon became a world power. It became apparent these tiny children were from a world of Kings, Queens, and Castles.
Background
Robert was the same age as Alice but was a sickly baby. They were raised by an old-fashioned Italian family who opened a successful diner and a chain of prosciutto sandwich shops. As they grew up in a large, lively family, they became colorful and famous. Alice ended up at six feet four inches tall and a doctor. Robert became a seven foot six inch giant soldier.
Setting and Time
The world they lived in, from 1950 to 1960, was not controlled by America and Russia but by 'Twelve. This story is about a Princess named Alice who was born blind and can only see when her Prince named Robert is nearby. The country called Brooklyn seceded from New York City in 1947. It soon became apparent these children were from a world of Kings, Queens, and Castles.
Questions and Plot
How did they get to Brooklyn? Where did they come from? How did they come to rule the world? These questions are answered in this novel. Prince Robert chased Princess Alice for years, and Alice chased Robert for one hour. They are guarded by Second Chance Soldiers—individuals scheduled to die in battle, by accident, or natural causes but didn't. Someone or something gave them a second shot. Who gave them a chance and why?
Families and Royalty
Families have been here for thousands of years. Each family had a King, Queen, and Noble class. Their income came from the corporations they owned, such as farms and mines. Each family's King must approve all marriages. Alice is the daughter of the Kings of Kings, while Robert is the son of the King of the Soldiers, a rather new small family.
Protection and Adventures
Because Princess Alice was heir to the throne, the Second Chance Soldiers, as well as Prince Robert, were busy protecting her throughout her life. These individuals guarded them and the rest of the family through many adventures. They were given a second chance at life—someone or something gave them this opportunity. Why and how did this happen? The answers are in this book.
Conclusion
Princess Alice chased Robert for years and years, and Alice chased Robert for one hour.
