Anne Bronte, the author, was born on January 17, 1820 at Thornton, Yorkshire, England, and died on May 28, 1849 at Scarborough, Yorkshire. She was an English poet and novelist. Her sisters Charlotte and Emily Bronte both were poets and novelists. Anne Bronte's pseudonym was Acton Bell. She wrote 'Agnes Grey' and 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'.
