The Mystery of Edwin Drood is the last and unfinished novel by Charles Dickens, written in a detective genre with "Gothic" elements.

Dickens wrote only a half of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, so the ending of the crime story is unknown. We can judge to what extent Dickens managed in disorienting the readers and literature historians by those contradictory conclusions that the most qualified researchers came to.
