Book Description

This book is a personal, spiritual, devotional and scholarly exposition and commentary of the Book of Psalms in the Bible. It will appeal to persons of all faiths, ideas and opinions, Christians and non-Christians alike. The Psalms are the expression of Hebrew lyric religious poetry. John Donne, one of the greatest of English poets, said it all when he said that the Psalms were the manna of the church.

It is my fond hope that this book will appeal to all age groups since I have read the Psalms for many years and they represent the ultimate output of Jewish religious poetry and thought. I treasure the Psalms in every way and I am confident that when people read this book and go back to the Psalms in the Bible, they will be deeply affected by exposure to this great work of poetic literature.
